Fall Leaves, Good Food And A Road Trip!

Yesterday was a very full day for us.. in more ways then one! We woke up, hurried to get the cookies for Children’s Class at church baked, and the tortellini for the church potluck fried, and the kids fed, and dressed and out the door on time. In the middle of mixing up the cookie dough, my asthma hit, and poor hubby was left to get it all done by himself! He did an awesome job! The cookies got rave reviews from the kids and the teachers, and the tortellini was all gone, and all the kids had clothes and shoes on!

After church we came home, grabbed the dog, and took off for a drive to Triangle Lake. It was a very beautiful drive! And then we discovered that our dog gets car sick.. none of our kids do, just the dog. It was quite fun listening for the groaning sound the dog made, then rushing to find a place to pull off and let her out! We got to Triangle Lake to discover there really isn’t anything there to do. There is not really a place to pull off and let the kids play. It all seemed to be Private Property. That was a bummer. But we did find a really nice campground for next summer, and a Fish Ladder. It was closed, but that was ok, because Little Man didn’t have on his shoes, so we couldn’t of walked the path to the ladder anyway.  We got home in time to grab a  pizza from the market for dinner and enjoy Pizza, salad and soda night with the kids, followed by a movie and homemade popcorn!  We have Soda Sundays here. It is the one day the kids are allowed to have a soda, and it is usually a Hansen’s Natural Soda.

Even though it was a busy full day, it was nice to not HAVE to be somewhere, and just enjoy ourselves. The kids had fun, we had fun, and finished our day relaxed and renewed and ready to start a new week! Here are a few pictures of the “kid’s” enjoying the fall leaves…

My biggest “kid” the Hubs.. :o)

Apparently he had to “show” the kids how it was done..

                                                                       Juice Box and Little Mama!

MMMM!! Church Potlucks are the best!!

They were jumping out of the tree to land in the big pile of leaves…

Happy Fall!
