"Sweet Nighty Night" Cow Patties FPF Review!

Standard

This is my final diaper for the “Sweet Nighty Night” Series. I know.. I know.. I want to do more.. but, I haven’t been able to get any more night time dipes to review! Not only that… I am WAY behind on this series.. it was supposed to be over in January!

Today, I bring you the Cow Patties Famous Pocket Fitted! Now I know WHY this night time diaper is Famous! It is literally leak proof. Even though it is a fitted and says it requires a cover, the only reason I put one on, is to keep the Putters from pulling the snappi off. The outside of the diaper is never even damp, and once, it was on her for 14 hours while she snoozed from 9:00 p.m. to almost 11:00 a.m.!! It was totally soaked inside, but dry to the touch on the outside. This is the FPF I was sent for review..

The outside of the FPF and the insert that folds up to go in it. I fold it tri-fold.

The inside of the FPF.. Super soft and absorbent.

Sorry these pictures are so dark!

I have been using this diaper for, gee, four weeks, (see.. waaayyyy behind!) and have never had an issue with it. It goes on easily, well as easily as it can with a squirming toddler. But it stays on, and I have never had a leak or red marks. I wish I asked for snaps, as that would just be so much easier with a squirming baby, but that is my only problem. The snappi works great, but Putters knows how to take it off, so I have to put a cover on even when it doesn’t really need one. I would definitely buy more of these. At only $18 they are a steal! The insert is made of two long layers of Bamboo fleece that fold up to make 10-12 layers of super absorbent insert!

Cow Patties also sells covers, pockets, AI2’s and more.. you can see all their products here.

I will continue this review in a couple days, with a weigh in, and more! In the meantime go find some diaper on Cow Patties Web site you can’t live without!

Be Blessed..

Putters and her baby in her “legs” I made from socks!

I just wanted to leave you a note saying thank you so much for actually reading my ramblings.. in the past 5 months, this blog has taken off from being a way to keep out of state family up to date, to being what it is.. a huge part of my life! I don’t think my out of state family even reads any of this! I love writing reviews and hunting down products that everyone might enjoy! But I kinda miss writing posts about life.. I will try to do more of that in the future!

I also wanted to say that if you have a blog, and I am not already following you.. I am having trouble keeping up with everyone, so if you want me to follow you back please leave me a comment with your blog URL under this post, and I will get to following! :O)

Like father like daughter.. Hubs put chains on our van when we went to Bend in a tee-shirt and shorts in 28* weather! It was much warmer here but still COLD!

As most of you know, I do our school year from tax return to tax return. This year I am going with a new curriculum. I bought a Sonlight Core 3 curriculum for my oldest three children on Ebay, and I am anxiously awaiting it’s arrival. I am looking forward to sharing with you our journey this next year through it! I can’t wait to teach, ahem, learn Early American History with my kids! I love that while it is geared for the older kids, because alot of the curriculum is reading living books, my younger two will probably learn a thing or two as well.

This is how we control “Clown”… just kidding.. I found him like this the other day.. guess he got tired of himself.. LOL. He actually scotch taped himself to the chair.. or his brother did..

For the younger two, I am going to go more of a Charlotte Mason route. They are so creative, (Little Man was coloring IN the lines before age 3, and he will spend HOURS trying to get his letters or numbers just perfect, and EVERYTHING has to be colored!) and so easily distracted it is very difficult to get them to sit for more then 20-25 minutes at a time. So for them it will be quick and easy math lessons, on brightly colored math worksheets, (Horizons) and lots of story times, along with a page or two a day of handwriting (Confessions Of A Homeschooler Blog) and a reading lesson. They are both learning to read using “Teach Your Child To Read In 100 Easy Lessons”. Which we are loving. The lessons take about 15 minutes each, and they are learning alot!

This is an Apple Tree I found on my desktop!

I will be tweaking our schedule, and our new workbox routine to make it work with the new curriculum. Most likely I will be doing school with the younger two in the mornings, while the older three do lessons that they can do on their own, then school with the older three working on things they will need help on in the afternoon. But, as we all know, our best laid plans sometimes don’t work out. I saw a wall plaque the other day that said, “We Plan, God Laughs“.

Speaking of that quote.. I will be sharing soon another way we “Planned, and God Laughed.”

Here is “Knight” wearing the crown he made while we were doing a unit study on Kings and Queens.

MotherLove Herbs Review and GIVEAWAY!! CLOSED!!!

Standard

Here is another “Back To Natural” Review!!

I really need to make up a button or something for this!! Now that the month is almost over..

I was sent a jar of Diaper Rash & Thrush Ointment from Motherlove Herbal Company. I have to tell you this little jar is “magical.” As a cloth diaperer (is that a word? It’s early and the coffee is still brewing!) we rarely see rashes anymore, but with our recent trip to the Valley where Putters got lots of rich restaurant food and (gulp) disposable diapers (I used the good 7th Generation ones, but still!) she had a rash problem. Of course I forgot to bring the Diaper Rash & Thrush ointment with us! So as soon as we got home, she got a long warm bath and thick coat of rash ointment. The next morning the rash was completely gone! I was amazed. I really wish I had this stuff when we had a bout with thrush a few months ago!
It is made with all natural and organic herbs and ingredients and is certified organic by the Oregon Tilth. That is the highest organic certification you can get! Every purchase at Motherlove supports the Nurturing Life Foundation. Encouraging Moments Newsletter Review For Gabby Moms

Standard

This month for The Gabby Moms, I get to review the Encouraging Moments Newsletter, from Eternal Encouragement. So grab your favorite drink and sit back and enjoy! I want this to be more like a chat, then a post you read and wonder about all day! Please feel free to comment and ask questions or start a discussion!

This was a pretty hard review to do because these newsletters pretty much speak for themselves!! Not only are they encouraging and uplifting, they are, more often then not, thought provoking, and eye opening. There is SO much packed into that little letter, I can’t believe all I learn in just a few moments of reading! Or how encouraged I am at the end. Not only by the fact that, wow, there are other mom’s and wives out there that struggle with that too, but the fact that, that is fixable!! I can fix that problem, and here is the way I can do it! I love that the newsletters are not overwhelming with information. Laurie and her crew tackle one or two problem areas at a time, and give you the resources to help you!

This weeks newsletter is on organization… who doesn’t need some help with that?! I know that for us right now, while living with my parents, in a cramped little house, organization has to be accomplished because we can not find a single item that we need on most days! We spend WAY too much school time looking for items that did not get put away the day before, or no one bothered to tell me we were out of. Laurie reminded me that the Bible even talks about how important organization is! God organized the world… and if God needs organization.. well.. I think I do to. When God organized the world, he gave every person, and thing, a place and a boundary. Within that boundary we have the ability to seek Him. In the last sentence of the verse below it says that because of that, He is not far from each one of us. If we stay in our allotted spots and places, God is right there within easy reach of all! Wow.. what a thought. What a reminder that I need to seek God and find His will for my life so that I remain in that boundary, near to Him!

“And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward Him and find Him. Yet He is actually not far from each one of us,” Acts 16:26-27.

In last weeks newsletter in the “Chick Flicks For Mom” which are great little videos with ideas, and helpful hints, was a little video that contained a great rhyme for C.R.I.J. which are the four components of obedience. Cheerfully, Respectfully, Immediately, and Joyfully! I love this little rhyme, and have been teaching it to my children to get better obedience from them. When they start to whine or complain, I start singing the rhyme. It gets almost instant attitude changes, without the hassle I usually get! “When Mom says come, I jump and run. I don’t ask why, and I don’t cry. I smile and say, “Yes, Mom. Okay!

It’s cute, it’s short, and it teaches complete obedience in one little rhyme! It reminds them that they are to do what I say immediately, with a cheerful response, no crying, and to answer me respectfully, and joyfully, with a smile! We have such a hard time in our house getting our children to respond when we speak to them. Then I think, well maybe they didn’t hear me? So I repeat myself, only to have them snap at me that they heard me!! This rhyme has helped with that to!

Another great feature of this newsletter is the “Drastic Discount Days” section.. where you will find some great deals on books and resources to help you! This week it’s a surprise sale! 20% off a 1 yr. subscription to the Eternal Encouragement magazine!

You can sign up for this newsletter and receive great tips and encouragement for homemaking, homeschooling, parenting, and marriage on the homepage of this website, www.HomemakingWithTEACH.com by entering your email address in the box at the top right corner of the page. Bissful Booty Cloth Diapers Review and Giveaway!! CLOSED!!

Standard

I was recently sent a great package of some awesome products from Blissful Booty Cloth Diapers. Along with a diaper that is super super soft inside and really easy to use, I received a bottle for Wiper Water along with 4 Wipe Water concentrate scents to try. So far I have only used the Juicy Berry scent, but we LOVE it.. 1 tsp of concentrate mixed with water fills the spray bottle that came with it. Putter’s gets upset with me if I forget to spray her wipes with it before using them!

I also received a jar of Sugar Scrub for me! At first I didn’t really like it, after I got out of the shower I felt kinda greasy, but within a few minutes, that feeling went away, and left me with some super soft and yummy smelling skin!

Here is my package:

I wish you could feel the inside of this diaper.. it is SO soft and fuzzy! It came clean super easy after a poo too.
I ordered the wrong size diaper, and this one just does not fit Putters right so I didn’t take any pictures of her wearing it. Catherine is sending me a smaller diaper to use, and I will get some pictures of Putter’s wearing that one. Even though this one is too big, it still held in a major poo explosion, and was super absorbent even at night! I have had NO problems with leaking, red marks, or anything. It fits really well around the thighs, it is just too big in the waist, and since it’s hook and loop closure, I can’t get it tight enough to stay on that super skinny baby! Other then that, I LOVE this diaper! I can’t wait to get my smaller size so I can use it on her whenever it’s clean! If you order one of these diapers, I suggest you get a size smaller then you think you will need. These diapers leave plenty of room for booty’s. Which none of my kids have..

Here are the Wipe Water Concentrate samples I got, along with a spray bottle in a pretty blue color to try:
They smell AMAZING, and I can not use a wipe on Putter’s without first spraying the wipe with Wipe Water and letting her smell it, at which point she says AHHHHH and smiles. Then and only then, am I allowed to change her diaper! I am not sure how everyone else uses Wipe Water, but I get the cloth wipe wet with warm water, wring it out, then spray it with Wipe Water to get it to smell amazing! It also really helps get that stubborn stuck on poo off too!

Here is how Blissful Booty came to be:

Our Weekend..

Standard

We had a fun weekend. Friday morning we got up super early and drove to Roseburg, about three hours from here, well two but with kids, it takes three, picked up our new suburban.. a NINE passenger 94′ dark aqua blue turbo diesel roaring machine! I forgot how LOUD diesel engines are! It came, much to Hub’s dismay, with a Ducks sticker! He is a Beaver fan… I am a Duck fan! :O) Then my mom brought the kids back here, except the Putters, and we took off to the Rogue Valley to look for a job and a house. We found both, but on the way back here, Hubs got a phone call about a job near here, so now we are weighing the pros and cons of each and trying to decide which will be better!

We spent one night with my brother, and SIL, one night with some old friends, and one night in a hotel. Putters got to go swimming.. she was NOT impressed! She really loves eating at restaurants. That isn’t something we do very often so it was all pretty new and exciting for her.

Unfortunately I forgot my camera so I didn’t get any great pics of her stuffing spaghetti in her mouth with both hands! Or drinking the coffee creamer at the truck stop restaurant! I will definitely have to get one of her in her new coat and hat (It was REALLY cold over there! We had run around to buy her warmer clothes!) We stopped at a used baby item store in Ashland where I found her a swimsuit and a really cute Elmo winter outfit for only $4, and CLOTH Diapers… for $2 and $3!! She picked up this baby doll, that is just really ugly, but she wasn’t putting it down, and it has gone everywhere we have gone since then, she won’t leave it for even a couple minutes!

That was our weekend…

Be Blessed…
