Back To School Week Of Reviews And Giveaways
I remember not wanting to go to school as a preteen because I was afraid it would happen to me. You know those horror stories ALL girls hear. The white gym shorts…. the sudden quiet in the room. Then the snickering… as you realize you just started your period for the first time. Your nowhere near your Mama, you have no idea what to do, or what is happening! EVERYONE at school knows and is laughing about it… it’s just a nightmare!
While none of those things happened to me, I know as a mother, I have worried about my daughters first time happening away from home, because of those stories. Having them afraid, and unsure not knowing exactly what is going on. Even though we talk about it, it’s still a scary transition for any girl! I am so HAPPY that I now have a Dot Girl First Period Kit for Little Mama. She just turned nine, and while I hope we have a good 3 or 4 years to go, today you just never know.
This cute little kit is jam packed with everything a girl needs for her first period. From pads to wipes, to a gel heat/ice pad that gets hot just by bending the metal piece inside, so it can be used anywhere, disposable bags to a complete booklet about what is happening and why, it’s all there. In a little purse that gives nothing away. You would think this purse would be quite large with all that in it, but it’s small enough to slip into a backpack, or a purse. It’s lightweight and cute enough that any girl would pack it around.
The booklet is very informative, without going beyond what parents are comfortable with. My favorite is that is states that starting your period does NOT make you a women. It is just one step toward becoming one. It also explains how to track your periods, how to know that something is wrong, who you can talk to if your away from home when it happens and much more! Everything I wish I had when I was first starting!
This is a great addition to every tweens or young teens backpack this school year! You can buy your daughter her own Dot Girl First Period Kit, here at the Dot Girl Website. You can also find several other products, like books, underwear and more.
